德米斯·哈薩比斯是 Google DeepMind 的執行長。他曾是年少成名的西洋棋神童與電玩遊戲設計師，於 2010 年創辦 DeepMind，使命是「解開智慧之謎」。在他的領導下，DeepMind 開發了 AlphaGo、AlphaFold 等突破性 AI 系統。他因 AlphaFold 對蛋白質結構預測的貢獻而榮獲 2024 年諾貝爾化學獎。

曾經合作共同創辦人・Safe Superintelligence Inc.
在兩家實驗室成為對手之前，AlphaGo 那篇 2016 年的《Nature》論文上同時有他們的名字——Sutskever 在作者名單中段，Hassabis 在最後，那個標示實驗室主導者的位置。當時 Sutskever 還在 Google Brain，Hassabis 在同一條走廊另一端的 DeepMind。self-play 與強化學習在那時只是下棋的技巧，多年之後卻成為兩家公司訓練模型「思考」的核心。
