David Foster Wallace unedited interview (2003)

The full, unedited footage of a German television interview with David Foster Wallace, sweating and self-interrupting as he tries to say plainly what his fiction circles: that a culture built to gratify every desire becomes “a strange kind of slavery”, that “we all worship” and the only choice is what, that reading lets you “jump over that wall of self” into another mind, and that the rebellions that matter will be “very quiet and very individual.”
